Available for children who are 3 years old as of September 1, 2024
The ultimate goal of our programs is to ensure that your child is ready – academically, socially and emotionally – for their start of Kindergarten. Growing with Grace Preschool uses the Illinois Early Learning Standards as our guide to prepare the students and follow kindergarten readiness guidelines used by District 70 Schools in Libertyville. We begin introducing these skills in the Tremendous Threes program and concentrate more heavily on them in the Fabulous Fours. To support this development, we use the Handwriting Without Tears program and Bridges math curriculum.
Our curriculum revolves around monthly themes where each circle time and class activity incorporates an academic lesson related to the theme. Some of the learning goal highlights are: socialization, shapes, colors, counting and number recognition, graphing, patterning, sorting, letter recognition, cutting, pencil grip, and fine/large motor skills.
Developing the whole child is an important part of our program. In addition to daily encouragement, each class attends a monthly Chapel session to reinforce the virtue of the month such as kindness, sharing, and patience. We also offer in-house enrichment with visits from local educators such a Music-in-the-Box, Core Martial Arts, Talent Forum Dance, Yoga classes and the bookmobile from Cook Memorial Library. In addition, each class goes on three field trips each year.
The class sizes are limited to 15 students with two teachers. Parent helping is not required, but there are numerous opportunities to join us in the classroom. We have monthly helper sign-up sheets or you are welcome to assist at any time that is convenient for you.
During the 2024-2025 school year, we will offer three different day combinations for the 3s program. In addition, based on student and parent preference, you can extend your day or week by adding Lunch Bunch(es) and/or Adventure Class(es) to this core program. Feel free to contact us if you have questions or need guidance on how best to build your child’s program.
